After two Covid-affected seasons, Devizes RFC were keen to return to rugby with a bang. As part of this renewed energy, the club carried out a rebranding exercise and were excited to launch their strong new identity to players, supporters, volunteers, sponsors & the wider community.

 

However, in sharing facilities with two other sports clubs, the visual identity of Devizes RFC had become lost. The shared “clubhouse” had been sterilised to accommodate commercial lettings and many club members / players did not feel “at home” in their own building!

 

We wanted to make an impact – we needed to signal a change - and we needed help!

 

As a highly valued supporter & sponsor of the club, we approached John Cox of DCE Agency to see if they could help us create a fresh environment for the club. John kindly sent us Louisa to survey the site and see what could be done to help us tell the story.

 

Starting at the roadside (where thousands pass every day without seeing that the rugby club is there!), walking along the driveway, arriving in the car park, entering the front doors and fighting your way into the main room, the journey was completely redefined.

 

The team from DCE worked tirelessly to create, manufacture and install all of the elements in time for a formal Launch event in January. To mere mortals, it seemed impossible to do everything in time but with 24 hours to spare, it was completed to a highly professional standard and the following day 120 people sat down for lunch and were joined by hundreds more for the match afterwards.

 

The feedback from the event has been fantastic. Club supporters new & old loved the new branding and rugby focussed environment created by Louisa and her team. The sterile function room has been transformed into the Saddlebacks Bar and the feeling of club identity has been restored.

 

We are eternally grateful to John, Louisa and the whole team at DCE Agency for their help and support and we look forward to working with them in the coming months and years to further cement our club values and branding.
